Root Triumph Developers Working on ICS (Andriod 4)

With the recent wave of Triumph devs switching handsets to the HTC is there anyone left still working on CM9, MIUI or any other variant of ICS for the Triumph? It looks like all the momentum has stopped (I could be wrong, please do correct me if I am). Like quite a few people have posted, there are still many of us that recently (within the last 3 to 4 months) purchased the Triumph and because of finances will not be moving to the HTC handset. This community was very active with development of ICS for the Triumph and it all seems to have halted. Rather a pity, understandable, but still a pity. I myself was starting to become rather excited that the camera was being heavily worked on and stability was improving.

The community is still very active. We have a few very solid ROMs: Sharp has working GPS and HDMI, CM7 by g60 is still kicking, and Starship is just super sexy.
Yes, we've lost some of the devs, but we gained some others. And some of them said that they are sticking with Triumph for a while.

From what I know the devs are working on CM7 right now and the are building it from the scratch. You can find more about their progress on xda forums - "[DEV][TEAM WX435]"
If it goes smooth as they hope, everything will be pushed towards CM9 development. So, stay tuned my friend - I think (hope!) good things are on the way.

They left because, the Motorola Triumph is hard phone to update. Motorola Triumph is not a open platform and they codes are hard to break. I have both phones Motorola Triumph and EVO V 4G. I am still waiting for an official update from Virgin Mobile Gingerbread 2.3 and crossing my fingers. :) Thank you guys for eveything.

You are correct. Because we are starting from scratch it's taking a lot of time to rework the files. When IssacJ first created the device files they where created on July 2011. Basically I have scrapped the full device files and I am currently rebuilding them from scratch. The reason for the redesign is to hopefully move our device files into the main CM7 line and actually have nightly builds from CM7. If we can get to that, next up we can then move all our work into CM9 and again hopefully have nightly builds.

The most difficult part with all of this of course is lack of documentation. We are basically repaving our road and hoping our destination is the right place. Just know development is still being done, on both our device files and also our kernel.

I am sure that they have this phone platform such a secret is so Virgin Mobile can control the updates or lack there of, and make people buy newer phones thus making them more money.

This kinda defeats the "Open Source" if only part of the process is available to the public.

(Sarcasm Mode)Maybe Motorola is worried that the Soviet Union will use the Triumph for espionage purposes.(/Sarcasm Mode)

I guess my age is showing ;)

Keep up the great work guys, we have faith in your abilities!!!!

Yeah they released as much as anyone else does. The only thing they did wrong is not offer any updates to the phone.

Hi-
new to the forum...
I have a Triumph... want to root and upgrade it...
as of TODAY... what's the best advice ??? what build of what mod?
I have rooted and updated my daughter's tablet...so have some experience...
But what is safest STABLE build to go to ... and keep my phone working without worrying about needing too much attention!
Thanks in advance for helping the new-guy on the block.

Sorry to kill the mood, but there will NOT be an upgrade to 2.3 officially, it even says here in this motorola upgrade list, look for TRIUMPH WX435 under the USA region and it says "Will remain on Android 2.2." https://forums.motorola.com/pages/00add97d6c

well if you want every single thing to work you want a froyo rom
( most froyo roms are stable)

if your ok with the mini hdmi not working you can go with a Gingerbread or CM7 rom (For CM7 the most updated and stable is G60's CM7 Final)

if your ok with no camera and no mini hdmi you can go with an ice cream sandwich or CM9 (these are all in alpha stages which means basically that stability can vary, and currently cm9 isnt going to get updated for the time being so id probly say Froyo or CM7)
