Help Triumph has a crack :(

So my phone got dropped, and now has a crack on the side of the screen that forks out into 3 cracks going down to the other side. The screen still works, and honestly the cracks aren't terrible by any means as they don't affect reading.

My question is this. Would VM replace my triumph, and should I come up with a story other than I dropped it?

Also it's rooted (running CM9), but I do have a stock nandroid backup if someone could walk me through that (assuming I get a replacement from VM)

Call them and ask if they will replace it. They have replaced phones that people have dropped/immersed, but they won't always do it. It won't hurt to ask.

Don't lie about what happened for at least 2 reasons:
1. Lying is just bad.
2. How are you going to get cracks like that some other believable way?

We can walk you through restoring a backup (there are a couple guides linked in the stickies of the root section) if you need us to.

Well.... the battery could have ruptured causing the screen to have pressure applied to it, which in result cracking the screen.
