Help Triumph HDMI Dock?

AtticTRON

Android Enthusiast
So I was looking around for an hdmi dock for the Triumph when I came across this dock for the Razr and noticed that it connects using both hdmi and usb. Would it work on our phone? Do the ports match the ones on ours?

A dock would be awesome, even though it is pricey. Eyeballing it I would say it looks close - hopefully someone on here has both phones (or works in a store) could confirm it.

The link is my my first post but I guess it is kinda hard to tell. Motorola 89526N DROID RAZR HD Station with HDMI Cable and Rapid Wall Charger - Retail Packaging - Black.

Seeing as how most Motorola products have the hdmi and usb ports next to each other I would assume it works. I was also looking at the Motorola Lapdock and if it worked for our phone I would definitely buy one.

the lapdock requires the webtop app thats built into motorola roms.

as for the hdmi docks, this phone seems to be built off huaweis reference design, did anyone else notice both ports are upside down compared to any other phone???

i highly doubt motorolas docks would work, or if they DO, they need serious modification, (removing plastic thats design to hold another model, so we can jam our phone into its ports.

look at this, its a pic of one of their hdmi docks. (the hdmi and usb jacks are the same though, for their model range)

first of all i already know its for phones with the ports on the side, lets ignore that.

next, the ports themselves are positioned so that the screen would have to be backwards if we plug the triumph into it, becuase our hdmi port is upside down.

next, the usb plug on THAT dock is "upside down" in reference to our phone. so it would never physically plug into the dock.

im sure motorola makes all their phones with the same port layout, regardless of where the ports are on the devices (side or bottom)

so since we have a huawei phone thats visibly different, im highly doubting these will work.

i would love to see if someone could modify it and make one work though! i mean its just power and hdmi pass through, in one device. not too difficult to make working, just gotta flip the plugs

Thanks, I wasn't sure if the ports were in the right order and you answered my question. I wonder if Motorola made our ports this way intentionally so that they would not work with their other phone's accessories.

as i said before, im pretty sure "Motorola" had nothing to do with the phone.

its built on huaweis reference design, that means the motherboard and all components attached to it (usb and hdmi ports) are built to a plan that motorola had no part in designing.

the only thing we have is motorolas name on the front, and their emblem on a removable plastic disc on the battery cover.
