Triumph users: switch to $25 dollar plan

I just did it with my wife's and mine Triumph's and selected the option to start at the next billing cycle. It took it.

Yes it worked for me too, but unfortunately this was also my monthly autopay date... I'm trying to see if they'll credit me back for the 1200/min/month charge... but given their questionable customer service skills, that may be a problem. If they just credit my account balance that would be fine, my payment for the next 2 months could come from that.

Edit: happy ending, see reply post a few down on the page

Is this working with new activations of OV and Triumph that are bought new, or just when topping up already activated accounts?

I don't know if you got an answer to this yet, but yes, new activations work.

You have to select the $35 plan initially, but before you pay, go back to the main account page, go to "Change My Plan" and choose "immediately".

..then pay the $25 that is due.

I plan to Deff take a look at this lol, currently i tried to do it but i just keep getting an error, probly cause i paid my bill lastnight and technically today is when its due

  • There was a problem

Since you have already paid for next month's service, click here to refund the payment and try your change again.

so i guess i gotta wait atleast a lil while, for the people who said they pick start plan at next payment or whatever, im guessing thats an option id get if this error didnt pop-up?

Thanks for the tip. I had three days left on this months service so I changed from $35/mo to $25/mo and this morning got a text stating that they had charged my account for $25 for September.

Love saving money.

Did this last night, and clicked start at next payment, so starting on the 20th back to the 25$ a month YAY. also I always use topup cards so no sales tax and lower bill now greay :-)

I did something similar (switched plans ON the date of my autopay) but they still refunded the prior charge, so I'm on the $25/mo plan and not double paid (see my post above).

I'm thinking of getting my mom an android phone and activating it, then switching to the $25/month plan. Anyone see a reason I couldn't?

the only reason id see is it'll depend what phone you get, if you click the link at the top the first line reads

This has been confirmed to work for the Optimus V, Elite, Wildfire, and Venture. The Triumph and a few other devices released before 5/27 should work

so as long as its a device from before 5/27 there shouldnt be any issue, if its after 5/27 then i believe it would be $35/Month which isnt that bad

Thx, i was figuring that was my issue, was cause i actually paid my bill early so i forgot what day the month changed, and it happened to be the day i tried to do this lol

Got it done about 2 minutes ago

Thanks for the great info. I just switched on my Triumph and my wife just signed up and bought the Optimus Elite and I just switched her.

Even if you use more than 300 minutes a month when I had my Triumph I always used Groove IP with good luck. Now that I'm on the Evo it works even better on 4g.

I accidentaly switched my plan to the $45 plan last month because of the way they're fullsite runs on my cell. I noticed the screw up later in the month & called VM. After going through 3 managers & repeating my story to all of them for an hour they all had the same thing to say. "It is physically impossible for us to grandfather you back into your $25 plan, theres no option on our computers to do it, were sorry for the inconvenience". I tried every angle possible to find a reason as to why they should be able to but still got the same said story from them. I even escalated it to a different center & took a trouble ticket. Suprise, suprise, i never heard back from them. I swear, Its like talking to a bunch of children who speak jibberish.

Thankfully I was browsing the forums & came across this. I dont get it Is it some sort of glitch they dont know about? I dont see how they could not notice it, Its clear as day. They had to of known about it & they were just blowing smoke.

i for one hate dealing with coustumer service period from any company as as far as VM goes is in the top of the list for worst of worst but that depends how u see it because when something goes wrong you expect either A.for them to fix it or B. get your money back right ? im not saying is right but VM way of thinking is why waste money on custumer service when they can just throw money at the problems and hope they go away yeah not a great plan but seems that this works for them besides there good for the money so why not out of all the cell companys i say VM is pretty decent they wont help you but they will throw money at you to stay quiet lol and at the end of the day long as you atleast please with your service why conplaing and come on ppl atleats there no nonsence service fee or tax we need to pay every month be happy

Not working, this does not appear to work or at least if you are near your restart date, lemme explain

a week ago I found this thread and checked my account, went thru 'change my plan' to see if the $25 plan was available well it was :) but my restart date is 10/3 so today i went to switch to the $25 plan and it's no longer there  and the 'don't see the plan you want' link is also missing :mad:

Can anyone confirm the $25 plan is still available?

I still have the other plan link with 25 option, here is the link you probably need login hope it takes you there

boondox22, thanks but I don't see it on my account and I tried 2 browsers. I have a feeling VM offers the $25 option to get you to restart early, I'll check in after I've restarted my regular $35 to see if the $25 reappears
