Trojan

It's always possible to get a trojan, especially with those qr codes. The solution is to ONLY get apps from the Market, and ONLY download apps which have good reviews and have at least a few hundred users.

It never ceases to amaze me that people will download and install without discretion. If you were thirsty, would you grab the nearest unlabeled bottle and start drinking from it?

I always enjoy how there are hardly ever specific information about the trojan or any other malware.

A QR code that installs a malicious app? I'd bet it would lead to the app that still uses the Rage-against-the-cage exploit that was patched last year and would only be effective against very old Android devices. Wasn't it patched in Froyo? Even if a trojan used the more recent Gingerbreak exploit, it's not likely to work because even Gingerbreak has been patched on a large number of platforms.

I refuse to be worried about vague 'security' threats. Not that I just randomly download apps. I read alostpacket's thread and installed additional security measures since I'm already rooted. DroidWall is your friend :P
