I always enjoy how there are hardly ever specific information about the trojan or any other malware.
A QR code that installs a malicious app? I'd bet it would lead to the app that still uses the Rage-against-the-cage exploit that was patched last year and would only be effective against very old Android devices. Wasn't it patched in Froyo? Even if a trojan used the more recent Gingerbreak exploit, it's not likely to work because even Gingerbreak has been patched on a large number of platforms.
I refuse to be worried about vague 'security' threats. Not that I just randomly download apps. I read alostpacket's thread and installed additional security measures since I'm already rooted. DroidWall is your friend

It's such an obvious way to distribute malware that I don't see how trojan writers could have missed it. But it's easily avoidable with a bit of caution.
