Help Trouble ejecting EVO from Desktop

I recently have started having trouble ejecting the EVO from my Mac desktop. I pull down the notification bar and change to charge only then try to eject the EVO. Then a pop-up occurs saying one or more apps are running and I have to force eject. I've checked and no apps are running that should keep it from ejecting. Any ideas on what the problem could be?

Eject it from the computer, not from the phone's menu.
