OK I rooted for the purpose of wifi tether. I rooted my other phone with no real problems so i am somewhat familiar with the process (yeah, right!!). Now wifey wants it and Im playing pure hell with this. I have tried almost every rom out there and have had nothing but problems after problems. I doing full wipes and backups so I at least have a backup. Cyanogen is what I keep going back to but I want a sense based rom preferably skyraider or RE-engineerd. I just dont understand why this is so freaking difficult
. I can flash one rom after another on my phone but cant get crap to work on hers. I have tried flashing through rommanager and through recovery.
I would greatly appreciate any help or constructive criticism

Update...
It was all due to using Rom manager 3
Once I used Flash alternate rec.,and wiped and installed with that, all is good
I just hope this helps some one else
