Root Trouble flashing splash screen

Downgraded rooted running cm7. Downloaded a splashscreen but can't get into hboot. Have tried the volume down power thing numerous times. Keeps rebooting normally. What am I doing wrong.

Did you turn off fastboot in Settings> Power?

Don't see power listed in settings. I know it was in the stock rom but don't see it now.

I turned it off before the rooting process. I read somewhere else that that is a sense feature. I'm not using sense so maybe that's why its not listed. But still don't know what to do.

Maybe the app Quick Boot would work.
