Help Trouble Playing Video

I have a few TV shows on my SD that I converted from mkv to mp4 and every time I try to play them I get a FC in the player I'm using. I've tried the stock movie app, quickpic and mobo player. I'm getting very frustrated with some of the issues I've been having lately with my TP and this isn't helping. Does anyone have a recommendation of a movie player they have used successfully?

Froze my TP and had to do a hard reset to get it working again

Sounds like a problem with using a non-standard video format. Does it play in other android devices?

Have you tried QQPlayer? I was getting very frustrated when most of my simple avi files wouldnt play in Mobo and MX players. So far everything i throw at qq plays well. Havent tried any high res or mkv's yet though

I found a free mp4 to avi converter for PC and converted the videos into avi and Mobo is playing them just fine now. Considering I had to convert from mkv to mp4 to avi it's kind of a pain. I hope these episodes were just a rare occasion and all the videos I have don't need to be reconverted
