Trouble pressing screen on flat surface?

i seem to have trouble pressing the screen when the phone is on a flat surface but when i tilt it up just a little it works. anyone else?

Everything seems to work fine for me when the phone is flat, except for dragging the notification bar down. No matter where i press it or how long I hold it I can't get it to drag down unless i tilt the screen.

Am i crazy or does the phone know when its in my hand? On a flat surface i cant touch anything at the top of the screen. But if I hold the phone level to the ground it works. anyone else?

Mine works fine on a flat surface. There was another thread on this earlier, some users reported problems, others didn't. It was theorized that it may have been a grounding issue, but it seems to be hit or miss on who is affected.

This is a problem that i started noticing recently. I am not sure if it has been the case since i purchased the phone which leads me to believe that it is progressive and will / may get worse. I have two Evo so i will check the non-used one. I might consider returning the device and hope that it isn't an inherent design issue.

Known issue. HTC fixing via software soon.

You could try re-calibration.

From the Home Screen:
Menu/settings/Language & keyboard/Touch Input/Text Input/ Calibration tool

Or
Calibrate the G-Sensor
Menu/Settings/Sound & Display/G-Sensor Calibration.

It has nothing to do with the flat surface...when you tikt it up you dont have an issue....your bit having an issue because your touching the phone with your other hand. Look up screen groundin issues for more info.

Didn't you know? Thats what htc sense is. It senses your presence and rewards you for holding it.

But I had the same problem with my iPhone. I didn't think that it was an issue on any of the phone until I read about it on here.
