Root Trouble removing default apps

Phone: verizon motorola droid running 2.1

when i type in the commands on the terminal emulator to remove an app ( stupid amazon mp3 ) it tells me its a read only file. can anyone help?

Assuming you are rooted and ran su in the terminal, you might have to use the "sysrw" command to mount system as read-write. Then sysro afterwards.

ok i just tried it, still came back with a read only. heres what im typing in:

su

then

mount -o sysrw,remount /system

then

rm -r /system/app/com.amazon.mp3.apk

i keep thinking the syntax im using isnt right
