Root Trouble Rooting ASUS Transformer Infinity TF700T (4.1.1 Jellybean)

@ Podivin: Read my post again. I dont have any external sd cards(for now),my only card went missing when my Galaxy Note2 was stolen over the weekend. So i want to install without it. That's why i asked if itwas posible using onlythe internal storage.

Well, I admit that I didn't catch that you don't HAVE an SD card, but I did say that saving to internal storage would work fine, and having suggested that you remove the SD card before you begin would imply that it's not needed in any way. :)

Hey Colchiro, good to see your smiling face again.
I figured you'd picked up one of these when you started hanging out in the forum. :)
For what it's worth, CROMI-X is my favorite ROM.

I saw you in some other TF posts and thought I'd have to say "hi". The name change is going to confuse me tho....
RE: smiling face.... unfortunate superglue accident but I'm trying to put it behind me. :D
CROMI-X is 4.2.1

4.2.1 is all I need to know. I'll be trying that first.

I had no problem unlocking my TF and was surprised it didn't wipe the sdcard like my Nexus 7 does, but did have some difficulty rooting with motochopper.

adb server is out of date. killing...
* daemon started successfully *
Turns out the problem was other adb.exe's in my system path and an easy fix (in retrospect :D). Renaming the motochopper adb.exe to something else (like adb_old.exe) allowed me to root. It took me a couple hours to figure that out tho.

Nice device, just need to figure out what I'm going to do about a case (if any). Usually I go with a Poetic case, but that doesn't play well with the dock, and the Caseen Perfecto looks interesting (but bloated), but that discussion is probably better left to the case threads.

Yeah, it is a pretty nice device if you're willing to root and rom. Running this device stock locked would get on my nerves after a while. One thing that helps is changing the max simultaneous tasks in developer options to 4 really helps with the butter. Doing that and running CROMI-X or plain CROMI really brings out the butter with this device.

Most of my devices were rooted and rommed within a day of purchase. I just want to get stock, rooted set up first, backup the apps with TIBU, create an image with TWRP and some screenshots before flashing cromi-x.

jhawk, I see we have similar devices, except I have a Sony Google TV and no Nexus 4.

Indeed, great devices tend to attract great owners :D:p

FYI, in the settings for Cromi-X you have a choice between the 4.2 launcher (soft keys in the middle of the bottom row) and the 4.1 launcher (softkeys in the bottom left corner). Then general consensus is that the 4.2 launcher lags. Note that 'launcher' there is a bit misleading, you're not actually changing launchers (at least no obvious home screen changes) just the placement of the softkeys.

I just flashed CROMI-X earlier today, and I've noticed that the developer options menu is either missing or hidden (more specifically, I want to access it so I can turn on USB Debugging). Other than that and a few other minor issues I'm loving it. Where to find it?

That's a function of the version of Android, not of CROMI-X, Google hid that menu from us. To un-hide it follow the steps below. I know this kind of sounds like "spin around and click your heels three times", but it really does work. :)

Go to Menu > System Settings > About Tablet
Scroll to the bottom and tap on “Build number” seven times.

The Developer Options menu is now permanently open to you (until you flash a different ROM)

Thanks for that it worked great. I especially liked how it said "You are now <X # of steps> from being a developer". Very amusing. So, is there anything else that Google has hidden from us?
