Root Trouble rooting

I lost my root when I upgraded to GB. I thought the new SuperOneClick was supposed to work with GB, but it evenually hangs when I try.

So I tried to follow the steps in the guide here, and Odin doesn't seem to be recognizing my phone. I get it connected in download mode, but nothing ever comes up in Odin.

What am I doing wrong?

Same issues here. Ive been reading through these threads all day and cant figure it out. Odin recognizes my phone when it is on but not in download mode. Ive tried putting the update.zip file and rebooting my phone to run it and it says e: blah blah blah error. I am about to give up.

I was never able to root using superoneclick with GB. I think most people root via Fuguroot by switching kernels.

For me, I just found it easier to flash another rom.

I was finally able to get mine updated using Odin on a different computer. I must have some drivers hosed or something on my desktop.
