Check some ford edge forums.....it's quite likely the Sync system rather than your phone. Sync can be flakey at times. I ran Apex before the GB update and didn't have issues connecting. I did have issues before I rooted to Apex and had to do the master Sync reset by pulling fuse 29 on the Edge.
