Trouble with Gmail

Hey folks, I'm new to this board, just trying to get some help on an error I keep receiving regarding Gmail. I have a Droid Raxr Maxx.

I keep getting a message that says "The application Gmail (process com.google.android.gm) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."

I downloaded the K-9 email app yesterday or the day before, and I'm thinking it may somehow be causing it. Any ideas on why this is happening?

My phone is not rooted. I disabled notifications in the gmail app, but I assumed since the gmail account was tied to all my apps, I need to keep it. Maybe I should just uninstall the app since I'm using K-9 for my email now (edit: can't because my phone isn't rooted).

Oh and thanks for the reply!

You can't delete it without rooting, but most 3rd party launchers have an option to hide apps from your app drawer if you don't want to see the app at all.

↑↑ This problem is usually caused by an installed application - either an "incompatible" or a "rogue" app. Uninstall the application will most likely get rid of this annoying message.

Tip: Only install a small amount of applications - get rid of the ones that you don't use on a regular basis.

Thanks man, but I'm not rooted. I probably should clean up some of my unused apps, but I wish I could just uninstall the gmail app. I actually wouldn't mind using it, but the app just started malfunctioning over the past several days.

Sometimes applications does that...due to conflict with other apps. Stop by your device's support forum for some cool info and tips.

See ya around. :)
