Help Trouble with MMS

Here's a good one for you trouble shooters.

So I haven't been able to figure out why I can't send MMS or picture messages. Data is enabled. 4G arrows are showing, as well.

On my Ascend, Esteem and now Spirit, I seem to have had this ongoing problem with MMS (GoSMS) and never complained. But now it's pissin me off.

Anyone who can give me some tips on how to correct this, I'd greatly appreciate it.

The MMS (from GoSms) shows an endless 'sending' loop that will eventually fail to deliver. However, if initially sent from the stock messenger app, it sends. I'm going to check my settings and see if I can find a fix. But it is definitely GoSMS.

Thanks.

Did you send it with stock or Go Sms? GO needs to be configured with custom settings for mms. I never did figure it out but I didn't try very hard. I just use the stock messaging app for mms in the rare event that I need it.

Thanks for the support guys. I just turned my data on/off and used the stock app like usual (thanks Bahn lol) and the MMS was delivered. I'm unsure of what settings for GoSms, so I'll leave it be for now. But I will be looking into it when I get a spare minute.

I'll be looking into it as well, I use gosms as my daily messaging app

Edit: I went to advance then scroll to the bottom then mms settings are there make sure that your stock messaging app is set to auto retrieve mms once you do that go sms should be able to send and receive mms.

Thanks for your support, James. I did try the setting but it did not fix the issue (for me).

I did find a spare minute here at work to apply a permanent fix (I hope lol).

So I just manually entered the APN settings for MetroPCS (on GOSMS Pro's MMS Setting Menu) :

MMS:

http://mms.metropcs.net:3128/mmsc

MMS Proxy:

wap.metropcs.net

MMS Port:

3128

Thanks again! Hope this helps!

So manually entering those helped you? Correct?

Hi, I've been having problems with the chompSMS app not getting picture messages. Was wondering why it says this

Any answers would be awesome, if not thats fine too

Huh, so I've been having the same issues, where if I try to use GoSMS or Handcent SMS it simply won't let me send or receive any mms messages, I've tried numerous solutions, including the one above where you manually set the APN information via GoSMS and it still didn't work.

However, I found a thread on a forum that is about a year and a half old that has a potential solution while using Handcent, and it worked completely. I've tested this solution with two other phones sending and receiving mms text's, so here goes:

On the Handcent App:
1. Go to settings, then Application Settings - Default Messaging App-Select Disable
2. In the Send Message settings - Select Auto Convert to MMS and Auto Resize and Auto Convert
3. Go to Receive Message settings - Uncheck auto receive, roaming auto retrieve and check Auto Download.

The solution says to uncheck Advance Download as well, however I did not see that anywhere in the settings.

Handcent works like a charm for me finally. Hope it works for others too. :)

Oh yeah, and I also did not do the Default Messaging App-select Disable either, I have it enabled fully, still works.

Unfortunately, for whatever reason it has stopped letting me send them again with Handcent. I haven't changed anything with it, so oh well :(
