Root Trouble With Rom Or Recovery?

Alrightio, I recently got some problems with recovery or rom. I go into recovery normally, and I wipe before installing a new rom, I toggle verification and flash the rom. I let it boot to the rom then I get a force close setup. So I was like no biggie, ill do it later but then... When I click the home button it asks me to select home launcher like launcherpro adw ics which I had on my previous rom. I had 96% when flashing. I wiped everything 30 times each. And still getting this problem. This recently happen, have tried everything but no luck. I'm on the urge of just going back to out Idk box mode and never installing recovery. I'm using joneidys recovery. Went from Sense rom to Reppards, someone know Idk this Idk a rom or recovery issue. I just want a suggestion or idea and clarification what the problem is

Thanks To Anyone who is willing to help me solve this!

no.. i can tell you whats happening. On joneidys recovery has problems with the ext partition, when you do a wipe of t he phone all your apps and dalvik cache are still on the ext partition, so when you flash a new rom that has a2sd enabled or flash a new rom and the a2sd script its picking up all those apps. you need to update your recovery to the GNM recovery, it can read and format the sd-ext partition so you can start clean

I can confirm this. I setup a2sd with jonedys recovery and then flashed a new reppard ROM. Had the same problem with it wanting to know if I wanted GO Launcher or ADWLauncher. I was like... WTF?!

Changing to GNM recovery and re-wiping all userdata/cache/dalvik fixed the issue.

I'm more comfortable with the Joneidy's recovery though :P But somehow just clicking the wipe a lot finally showed the wipe instead of the formatting. And now it works, and I have faith again lol xD

Thanks to all those who helped!

no problemo. gnm is better though.. the only differance between the 2 is that gnm works with ext. joneidy did a great job, not discrediting him or his awesome work.

I know :3. Quick question. I used to have 7.8gb on my sdcard without anything on it. and after partitioning I have 7.3gb free. Anyone know why?
And then when i go back it stays on 7.3 can't redeem my .5 back -__-

Joneidy did a great job but I think there was also an issue with the nandroid backups where they would not restore correctly. Not positive though.
I just recently changed to gnm after getting my phone into fastboot and it works great :D

when you partition your sd card for ext lets say u partitioned for 512mb, you now have 2 drives instead of one, the FAT partition will read 7.3 because it is less 512mb. if you would like to regain that space and not use the ext partition anymore make a backup of the contents on your sd card and then from the storage menu on your phone select format sd, it will delete the ext partition and give you all your space back, but essentially when you partition you are turning your sd card into 2 drives one that is ext format with 512mb of space and one that is FAT with 7.3gb of space
