Root trouble

ok i have a dumb question. im trying to s-off and root but im having trouble running revolutionary so i can s-off. im just not seeing something. please help

You actually do not need Revolutionary anymore, go here: HTCdev - Unlock Bootloader

Start there and see where it goes.

is this the same as rooting?

This will give you s off after that go over to XDA and find the thread about how to root. Pick up from the part after revolutionary.

im not rooting this phone. im not very bright when it comes to this kind of stuff. this is far more difficult than when i rooted my cricket android. i rooted my cricket phone in 5 minutes. ive been trying this for 3 days and i still havent been able to s-off.
