Help Troubleshooting Random Reboots?

My wife and I both have Triumphs running the latest version of Whyzor's CM7. Hers has been experiencing random reboots for some time. I blew away everything and did a fresh install of CM7 from the ground up and made her reinstall all her apps, and it's still doing it.

I got a new job that required me to get a new phone, so my Triumph was unused. I thought, hey, maybe my wife's issue is hardware, so I took a Nandroid backup from hers, restored it to mine, activated it on her account, and told her to have fun. Still getting the random reboots.

So I'm trying to figure out why it's rebooting randomly. I never had an issue with either Triumph rebooting, but she is, regardless of whether it's on my hardware or hers. Is there some log somewhere I can dig into to try and figure out what's going on?

Also, when her Triumph reboots, her live wallpaper gets set to the default live wallpaper for her CM7 theme (which is the default CM7 theme). Is there something in there that's re-applying that wallpaper on bootup? It annoys her, so I hear about it, which in turn annoys me. :D

Thanks in advance!

download alogcat perhaps? see if there is some consistency w.r.t. what is running or some exception when the reboots occur?

ummm, with the custom rom, are you overclocking at all? is it possible the reboots are associated with data-exchange, GPS or BT that is active, and the unit is heating up?

I had the same problem, same ROM; if it didn't reboot, it got very, very sluggish. I also just got the phone and installed a bunch of apps on it, so the cause could be anything (methinks bad flash or bad app install or a bad app). Additionally, my wife has the same phone, same ROM, different app collection; she has an occasional reboot. (When she gets tired of her zombies theme, I'm going to wipe it, start over.)

I wiped my phone and put Minimal Triumph on it; I didn't have any problems but I only ran it for a day. (It's a pretty speedy ROM BTW.) Next, I put CM7 25-Mar build on it and have been slowly adding apps and making backups, so far so good (...SO WHAT! heheh) but it's only been over a day. I'm happy and optimistic.

My suggestion would be to wipe it and be deliberate, methodical, and patient installing apps over time, beginning with essential ones and make backups along the way so you can fall back.
