Root Try to root, script says phone not connected

Every time I try to root my epic it says phone not connected. Why is this? Thanks!

Have you:
-Installed the proper Samsung drivers on your computer?
-Enabled usb debugging on your phone?

even when i did have everything correct it would take a couple tries before it reads the phone just went through that last night...just keep trying disconnect reconnect the usb not sure if that helps any but it takes me a cpl times b4 it reads the phone sometimes when i reroot

yeah, i've had that happen with Odin a few times.

I have the drivers and usb debugging enabled

Tried multiple usb ports with no luck.

I had an issue where the screen had to be on in order for it to work. Worth a shot!

Still nothing. Just says phone not connected. I rooted before and then upgraded to froyo. Does this have something to do with it?

Which root method are you using. Link?

Factory Cable wouldn't work with my phone and computer. Using my friends droidx cable and my phone is finally recognized my phone and i'm trying to root to no avail. This linky

Try DL'ing it again. You may have a bad DL.

Then try rebooting the phone and the computer.

Tried all of those already. no help

At this point I'd recommend using ODIN to go back to Eclair then trying again.

Others may have some helpful hints/tricks.
