Root Trying Other roms without affecting current ROM

Is it possible to "try" a rom out without it actually installing it so if i don't like it i can just do a reboot on my phone and it will go back to its normal state.

As far as I know, you can't.
Just do a full backup, reboot, plug in usb cord, put to the sd card your test ROM, disconnect, shut down and go to recovery, install zip from sd card, use it and all that stuff and then recovery your old backup.

back up current rom with nandroid
copy backup off sd card to pc
put new rom on

if you dont like it then...
copy file back to sd card
restore
hey presto, back to exact original state

:)

There is an app in its beta stage called 'bootmanager' that I am using, it allows you to install other roms to your sd card (in slots), and of course boot into them, you can install up to 4 roms plus your phone rom (oxygen). From each rom you just reboot into any of the others you have installed. As I said its a beta at the moment, google init2winitapps for more info.

Should also mention that from the bootmanager app you can delete roms you don't want to keep very easily.
