Help trying to change the 4 bottom icons on 2.2

on 2.1 i could change the 4 default icons on the very bottom of the screen but i cant seem to be able to change them now. they are phone-email-browser-applications. i basically want to delete the crappy stock email icon and replace it with the gmail one.

It seems the same as it was before for me.

Apps -> menu button -> View type -> Customizable grid -> menu button -> edit -> slide your apps you want to the bottom bar (Home is locked) -> menu button -> save.

thx that was it. i dont use that enough to remember it. its sorta an odd way to do it imo which is why i guess i couldnt recall it. thx again! cheers!!

If you haven't tried it, you might want to give LauncherPro a look. It gives you a 5th icon in your dock, and allows the dock to scroll so you can add bunches more

Is it just launcherpro plus that gives you a scrollable dock so you can have up to 15 icons (3 docks to scroll between each with 5 icons) or is it possible with just launcerpro? I have LPP and dont remember if that feature was also in LP.

In LPP its menu-preferences-dock settings-number of docks 3 &below that you can enable scrolling loop for the docks

I have the free version, and my dock scrolls. I don't even remember setting it up do do that, I just stumbled across it by accident one day.

I use the Free version and you get 15.
