Trying to delete bloatware...

Lurker
I recently rooted my 2.1 Hero using z4root and am now trying to delete Sprint bloatware (ie: nascar, amazon mp3, twitter, flicker, etc). I tried using adb shell, but it was saying I didn't have permissions when trying it as su or sudo (I do have the superuser app on my phone).

Then after some research I found Titanium backup and am trying to delete the programs that way in 'chuck norris mode." After deleting a program, my phone instantly reboots and when it comes back up there is a black screen with a triangle and exclamation and the android icon. After clicking menu I come to another screen that makes me choose:

....reboot system now
....apply sdcard:update.zip
....wipe data/factory reset
....install zip from sdcard
....nandroid
....partitions menu
....advanced

Underneath those options it says:
ClockworkMod Recover v2.5.0.1
Finding update package....
Opening update package....
Verifying update package....
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted

Unsure of what to do, I've been choosing "reboot system now" and my phone then turns on like normal but the program I tried deleting is back.

Any suggestion on what I can do to delete the programs permanently? I'm new to rooting and just trying to get some more room on my phone. I'm not wanting to flash any ROM, just get rid of what I don't use.

Thanks!

Figured it out. I was long holding on the app and deleting it that way...but quick hitting it, Titanium brought up another screen to freeze, uninstall, delete the app. I uninstalled it, and then deleted it and it is gone from the programs list after reboot.

My next question, I didn't notice a chance in the amount of free space on the phone after deleting the apps, should I? Or are they always on the phone but hidden?
