Root Trying to export boot animation...

in2uition

Android Enthusiast
I'm trying to export the boot animation from my phone, but when I look into /data/local or /system/media I don't see the "bootanimation.zip" file.

Could the boot animation reside somewhere else?

I want to export it so I have a backup when I replace it with another animation.

Which one is it, maybe there's a download online for it?

Adding the new one to /data/local should leave the original intact, but show the new one.

It came with the Liberty rom, but it's not the eagle logo, instead its the word "Android" with a chrome effect. Here's a quick pic I took of my phone:

Also for some reason I don't have the eagle logo boot animation on my phone after one reboot, but that's another issue. :/

That comes with ApeX 1.3.1, did you have that before liberty? You could download the ApeX 1.3.1 zip, unzip it and get it from there

use 7 zip;

go in to theme/rom then
system
then media

grab boot animation and drag drop to desktop

looks like it could be in the bin folder as well; though ive never tried to pull and install that one....wasnt in a .zip

hopefully someone knows how to make that work.

Thank you for the download link. :)
sure....got the droid peeing on apple and a cool droid x one if you want those.

if that isnt it, let us know maybe someone else will have what you're looking for.:)

This is really strange because I came from GummyJar 2.5 to Liberty and I also never had the spinning Liberty bird animation. I had that same Android boot animation as well.

I had some other problems with Liberty, so I ended up wiping data, cache and system and reinstalling Liberty. I then finally got the Liberty boot animation and a problem free Liberty install.

I truly believe that people should be wiping their data and cache before installing Liberty, even if coming from GummyJar 2.5.
