Root trying to flash netarchy kernel

Using ROM manager, I'm trying to flash netarchy 4. 9. 1 from SD card like other roms and kernels, but it takes me to bootloader instead and won't install the kernel. Any ideas?

If you have ClockworkMod Recovery:

1. Boot to Recovery (or from HBOOT, click Recovery)
2. Use Up/Down Volume buttons to select "install zip from sdcard"
3. Select "choose zip from sdcard"
4. Navigate to the ZIP file on your SD card
5. Press the Power button when your ZIP file is highlighted
6. Click Volume Down button until hit the line to install, press Power button to start install

Even if you have another Recovery version, the steps should be similar.

Well I was able to get the kernel to install, but when it reboots, it gets stuck on the white evo screen. I then have to initiate a recovery and then phone works.

try his 4.1.9 universal kernel it should work if u have a working kernel already installed in ur phone

Make sure you wipe the cache and dalvik cache before installing new kernels. Unfortunately I don't think clockwork clears the dalvik cache correctly so I use amon ra recovery.

Get rid of ROM manager and start flashing manually.

I've been using ROM Manager to backup and restore my ROMs and load new ones without any problems (that I didn't cause, and always wiping). I think it's great and would be even better if the listed ROM devs supported direct downloads from it. However, I don't use it to flash things like kernels, etc.

it depends on which recovery you are using, in ra they are under wipe, and in clockwork, wipe dalvik is under advanced

Yeah, i vote for ditching ROM manager. Learn to flash the right way so you know exactly what you are doing and understand it.
The only thing i cheat on and the only reason i have Rom manager is switching between Clockwork and RA super quick lol.
