Trying to install .apk

I found the weather widget for the LG ally and I'm trying to install it but it wont. What do I have to do? The LG Ally dump has the .apk and .odex, but still it wont install. Do I have to push it (adb) to system/app?

first make sure you can install APKs outside the market. Click home, settings, applications, check "unknown sources"

Then either download the APK from you phone or to a PC and then transfer it with USB.

Use a file mananger (like Astro) to browse your SD card, click on the APK and install it with "package installer" which is included with EVO
