Root trying to restore root

me being foolish and honestly disappointed with the stability and lack of roms we have went back to stock just for the basics. I wanted to update the software to see what is new even though I read what was. doing so though I lost root. my boatloader is unlocked still but I need cwm to restore my backed up Roms. I had a cwm zip to flash in hboot but when I try it says incorrect cid. is there a way to fix this also what is it?

any one know how to fix cid incorrect error without making a gold card

easy fix bro. i did the same thing when making the last system dump with the last ICS release. extract the img from the cwm zipfile.

connect your phone to your pc and flash the .img file via the command line. works like a charm and once you reboot youll have cwm again and you can flash SU that way.
