Root Trying to root G3 on Verizon using Stump

I'm on Verizon and saw the Stump root technique. It looked pathetically easy to implement, so I gave it a shot. After downloading the APK, I got a message indicating that my phone has been patched. Am I up the creek without a paddle?

I'm on android version 4.4.2, and probably since my phone took an update two weeks ago, I suspect I probably can't use the easy Stump method, but hope there's still a way to use that easy method.
 
I also made the mistake of taking the ota, but there's a way to go back, which I did successfully. Using the lg software and the original kdz you can downgrade and then root. Look over on XDA.
 
Thank you for a push in the right direction. I'll scan the XDA forums for downgrading the Verizon OTA, and if I can find it, I'll look forward to giving Stump another shot.
