Root Trying to Root - not working more info inside

I have tried to search, so please do not flame me.

I am running stock ROM 2.2 and having issues.
(software info - Android V 2.2, Base 2.15.00.11.19, Kernel 2.6.32.17-gee557fd, software 3.703651.1, Browser Webkit 3.1, PRI 1.90_003, PRL 60677)

I have downloaded PC36IMG, and inserted to my SD Root ( I think, when I sync my EVO and open it under "computer" is it comes up as a Removable disk. It was inserted in this area)

When I do a shutdown/reboot it does not recognise when it boots it boots like nothing is different from stock. Now it does show it is trying to load but does not load.

Which method did you use...Unrevoked? Did you install the proper drivers per the instructions? If you still have HTC Sync installed you need to uninstall it first. Did you follow the instructions on the Rooting For Dummies Guide? If not, then go to my link and take your time...you'll get it.

The current version of unrevoked does not use a PC36IMG file any longer to root your phone. Check the Rooting of Dummies guide for a link to the current version of unrevoked and instructions.
