Help Trying to send pictures through bluetooth

Alye

Newbie
So i successfully paired my Ascend with my pc through a bluetooth adapter. I have been able to send files TO my phone, without issue, but when i go to send pics back from my phone TO my pc, it keeps saying connection failure. When I go into the bluetooth settings it states that its paired but not connected, and its trusted. It said the same thing on the phones screen when I was sending files to it but it didnt fail at sending them. Any reasons this is happening? I have it set to connect automatically on the phone

I tried that, it kept saying it couldnt find my pc when it was paired and kept asking for some weird FTP thing, name was in caps, cant remember what it was called.

you need to set your phone up as being allowed to explore and transfer data to and from your computer.

windows or mac?

and what adaptor?

Windows xp, i have my bluetooth adapter set to always discoverable, and i have no issue transferring to my phone, it just keeps saying it cant connect to my pc to transfer from phone to pc.

the program i mentioned-https://market.android.com/details?id=it.medieval.blueftp&feature=search_result

this will allow you to completely explore your computer (within the allowed folders) and add/delete/modify folder contents from your phone.

(from microsoft support website. not using the bt transfer app)
Receiving a file
To receive a file from another computer, follow these steps:
Click Start, click Run, type %windir%\system32\fsquirt.exe, and then click OK.
In the Bluetooth File Transfer Wizard, click Receive a file, and then click Next.

You receive a "Windows is waiting to receive the file" message.
On the sending computer, click Next to start the transfer.

Note During the transfer, a progress bar appears on the sending computer. When you transfer a file to a Windows XP-based computer, a progress bar also appears in the Bluetooth File Transfer Wizard.
On the Save the received file page, type the name of the file in the File name box, click Browse to select the location where you want to save the file, and then click Next.

Thanks a lot, that actually worked. I wasnt aware I had to actually make the pc wait for a connection, I figured that it would automatically connect to my pc in the fashion it does for my phone. I was able to use this without using that extra market app and just sending it like normal with the default bluetooth option. Again thank you much.

Thats xp for you.

There is a way to allow the app to explore your computer but I dont have time right now to look it up. You should check it out.

Yeah, I had a bit of trouble getting win7 to work properly with my ascend via bluetooth, but finally got it to act right after jacking with for a while. Before you ask, I honestly don't remember exactly what I did. But it does work now. I don't use bluetooth hardly any more, but use wifi for file transfer. There are two apps in the market that I've used and are great. One is File Expert and the other (currently using) is Websharing.
