When ever I'm downloading a torrent my gs3 constantly drops and then connects every couple of minutes. Any reason for this?
Really frustrated with this phone and Os now, it will be the last android device I ever use I think.
 
lol good luck with he iphone or better yet the blackberry ;) have you thought perhaps your carrier has certain services/ip black listed so users like you dont abuse their connection to download torrents.
 
Yeah it's probably your carrier. I download ROMS with ttorrent pro on a regular basis and never have any problems. Did you uninstall the free version of ttorrent before installing the paid? Apparently if you don't it can cause problems.
 
I get better download speeds than any of the free apps due to having no download speed limit on the paid version.
 
I havent tried many tbh but like SG says, Pro has no throttling. i just find tTorrent easy to search and use. Im a total noob to torrents :)
 
If this is happening on 3G/4G, it would be interesting to know what the phone's signal strength is.

Go to Settings --> About Phone --> Status

and look at the signal strength. The LOWER the better. If you're under about 95dBm, you should be fine. Anything above that means a significantly weak signal from the tower. Poor signal could be causing the dropouts.
 
This is strictly over wifi using encryption it happens. I know if I don'tuse eencryption my speed is throttled. Now I also use my ipad for downloading torrents (not as much as I prefer to use my hdmi out on gs3) and don't have wifi issues. My computer is fine also with torrent clients.
 
What's that app anyway? A torrent client? I simply use uTorrent on my S3 for torrents.
It's not a problem with the phone nor the OS.
 
Any torrent app on my gs3 gives me wifi connectivity issues. I purchased tTorrent pro to see if it would make a difference but it still drops.
 
have you mailed the dev'?
I have no experience with him/her but you get some really good devs who dont rest until its fixed :thumbup:
