TuneIn Radio recordings

I've been using TuneIn Radio Pro (got it free from Amazon when they were doing their free app of the day a few years ago). One feature I love about this version is the ability to make recordings of streams that you listen to. I've seen info that TuneIn is taking that function away from future versions. I need to know if there is a way to listen to TuneIn audio files (in the .tir format) or if I can convert .tir tiles to a playable format. I have dozens of .tir files that I would like to save.
Thanks

sorry but according to this article:
https://www.filetypeadvisor.com/extension/tir

.tir is proprietary to tunein and thus is copyrighted.......it is against AF policy to discuss pirating copyrighted files.

but you should be able to still listen to old recordings. you just record new shows.

Even if the file type is proprietory, if the OP was legitimately allowed to record these files in the past for personal use, then there should be no copyright infringement as long as they are only for personal use.
(Think of recording CDs onto cassettes. This is the same as changing file types.)

I would try a site such as https://www.online-convert.com/ to see if the file could be transposed into another type.

Also, according to the article mentioned by @ocnbrze , there is a chance that your app version is old enough that you might be able to just change the extention (the .tir part) of the files to whatever format your chosen player will accept.

I've looked into Radio Droid so that's an option moving forward.
I've tried renaming the file ext to .mp3 but that didn't work. I'll keep looking into this.
As of now, I can still do recordings on my older Samsung phone (S9) but I don't know how long that will last. My newer phone (S21) upgraded to Android 11 and the older version of TuneIn isn't compatible with 11, so I had to move to a newer version of TuneIn which doesn't allow recordings and it doesn't let me listen to the .tir recordings on my S21.
The bottom line is I want to find a way to listen to the .tir files (or convert them) in case my older phone's version of TuneIn won't allow me to record anymore.
Thanks all for your input.

I guess they're in some unknown proprietary format, maybe encrypted with DRM as well. Which someone would need to hack.

There's a lengthy XDA Devs thread about it here...

Good luck! :thumbsupdroid:
