I've been using this app for a while and can vouch that it does work really well.

After a reboot, the widget won't work until you use the program at least once, that's my findings anyway, but I still love it

Try the LEDs Hack and it wants me to install new SU to solve the flickering problem, just too much trouble for me .

Found a alternative on the market anyway, AdjBrightness , which works flawlessly and very stable.
