Help Turn off notifications while in call

Is there a way to either adjust the volume or turn off the notifications while in a call. Right now when I'm in a call and receive an email or txt, I get a LOUD notification in my ear while I'm talking to the person...very distracting and painful! If I could just adjust the volume of notifications while in a call, that would be fine too...

I believe you can disable it in the call settings.
