Help Turn off proximity sensor

Flintchip

Lurker
Very annoyingly my screen has smashed quite extensively and don't have the money to repair right now.

My issue is that its very smashed over where the proximity sensor is, so the minute I start a call - the screen goes blank and I can't do anything until the call is dropped - very annoying when using automated phone lines. I know I can click speaker to keep the screen on, but I don't always manage to click it before it goes blank, and then I have to take the battery out to start again.

Is there a way I can stop this feature of the screen dimming when it thinks its close to my face?

Thanks in advance for any help

Ive heard of ways to adjust its sensetivity (root) so it should be possible.
Total guess but have u tried putting something reflective/or the opposite, matte black over it?
Im unsure how it works tbh.
Id do a thread on xda about calibrating prox' sensor and you should prob be able to make it totaly insensetive....
Good luck mate
