Help Turn off the Data connection?

jimmbomb

Newbie
Seems like I use ALOT of data even though it's just sitting in my pocket.
I have the push turnrd off & check for e-mail manually, but the Facebook widjit seems to up-date itself, and then weather temps are always tracking me & up-dating as well..
I dont need this data to be on all the time..
I cannot turn it off unless I put the phone in "airplane" mode.., then the phone & txts dont even work..
any suggestions on how to turn off the data & turn it back on.?? thanks.. jh

You might have to test this out, but you can use "Maximum Battery Saver" mode. This stops syncing data after 15 min. of inactivity, when not connected to a charger. You can use the "Task Manager" and put apps on the Auto-end list to kill the app when you put the phone to sleep.

Press Settings, Data manager, Data Delivery, and uncheck data enabled. From the Facebook app home screen press the settings button, Settings, and change the refresh interval and turn off notifications.

When you do this, is WIFI still usable, or does it turn that off too?
