Help Turn off when screen is dead?

So my 2013 Moto G was on the table and had a glass of water dumped over it. Dried off the outside pretty quick and removed the back but no sign of moisture getting in there.

It seemed to be fine, and busy day so I just kept working. After an hour I noticed the "no phone signal" symbol, but rebooted and it came back (for a while). Finally, after a couple of hours I tried to use it and the screen is not responding. I also notice there's a tiny red dot visible inside the back cover at the bottom - is this a "wet" indicator? I thought these things were water resistant but apparently not.

I'd like to turn it off to prevent any further damage but if the screen is dead, how can I do that?
