Help Turn off wifi

I've been using 3G mainly the past year. The past few weeks the phone has mainly been using wifi for internet. That's not normally a problem but I have limited internet on my computer and my phone keeps logging onto my wifi connection and using the wifi instead of the 3G that it normally uses. How do I turn off wifi for good? I'm not rooted or anything I have the normal HTC evo V 3d

Just go into wifi settings and forget the network. Or just turn it off via settings or quicksettings.

Turning it off should make sure it's actually off. Apps shouldn't be enabling it secretly without known permission.

If you're running stock then I'm gonna assume you got the latest OTA, check network settings and turn connection optimizer off.

ever since that OTA update....my phone will switch over to wifi without me telling it to. Wifi will be off..and then I look down..and it is back on wifi. It's really getting annoying lol.

You should be happy, your connections have been "optimized". Big Brother HTC knows what's best for you

More like Big Brother Sprint The same update came through labeled as "Sprint Connections Optimizer" on my husband's Kyocera Rise. At least they're sharing the love equally with all of us lucky VM users...

You can easily disable the 'optimizer' by going into your wireless settings
