Turn screen on with volume rocker

shadal

Newbie
Has anyone managed to find an app that will allow you to turn the screen on using the volume rocker? The ones I've tried haven't worked..

That's a rom, right?
I've not gotten that deep into droid, so not comfortable playing with roms yet..
Thx tho!

Try Widget Locker in the Play store. You can use the "easy wake" mode that it has, among other awesome things.

I have WidgetLocker, and easy wake mode does not work. Pushing the volume buttons will not turn the screen on.

I can turn the screen on by pressing vol up twice, no add ons or anything...

Edit: oh sorry guys, wrong forum... The Phandroid app made me come here insted of the Admire forums... Forget what I said....

Its an addon for roms. Its available in most sense 3.6 roms on this forum

Okay, I did find the .apk file to install, got it running, set my lock screen settings, rebooted phone and now it won't boot past the virgin splash screen - OMG, what do I do!??

PHEW!! Crap, nevermind... I pulled the battery and tried again, it booted this time.. Uninstalling this app for sure!!

Uh.. Wipe cache and Dalvik, then restore your nandroid.

Before uninstalling LeeDroid Tweaks, I've tried all the notification bar tweaks, lock screen tweaks and misc tweaks, none of which work with the stock sense 3.6 on this phone... Maybe I'm missing something, but after the stuck splash screen scare I'm not taking anymore chances..

Why, it's simple to correct. That's the only way to find out what works for you and what doesn't.

It's not so simple with a Ballistic case.. I just spent 20 mins making sure the phone (and inside of case) was dust/fingerprint free before putting it all back together...

Yeah but if you're in the middle of a flashing session you know that you have to have access to your battery.

But I still hope that you made a nandroid in recovery before "tweaking" your phone. I just want to make sure that you're taking precautions that's all. I know that I've borked my phone in the past. Now before I attempt anything low level I boot into recovery and make a backup. Spending the 5 minutes now can save you hours down the road.
