i have a uniden utab71 tablet and when i first got it i did not have to do anything to get to the main screen. then i installed some app i even forgot the app and it made me do a security thing. i had some options i picked the run my finger in a pattern. after that i uninstalled that app it was a dumb one and i still have this security pattern. i went to the security section and i can't find out how or where i ca rid this from my tablet. outside of pressing that little reset button how can i rid this from my tablet. thanks

so when you go into settings>apps>running.......you do not see the app there, correct? how did you uninstall it? was it thru settings>apps>uninstall?

try just doing a reboot, power off, wait 30 secs, then reboot and see if the worked.

yes i went into the apps and unistalled that program using its own uninstall button. i have turned it of for minutes and it still is there. the app that caused this is gone but the security is there. i have no need for that pattern. nore do i want to have to use a code or like my kindle just wipe across the screen. it had nothing when i got it that is what i would like back. just turn it on and have the desktop come up. thanks. bp.

Some of the security apps, you have to disable them Before un installing. If you can remember which app it was, reinstall, then disable and un install again. If it was from the play store, they have a list of apps you have downloaded, which should make it easier.

i don't remember. if it get real bothersome i will push the reset and just reinstall the apps i have on it now. that may be better anyway then the unit may run faster. it sounds like having all them apps even though i uninstalled them are leaving remnants around. thanks

A pattern unlock is one of the built-in security options. Are you sure that you didn't just enable that (perhaps because this other app required it to be set)? Look in your security settings ("Location and Security" on my phone) and look for screen lock, and try changing that to "none".

i had to enable that option for that app but then i didn't like that app i deleted it. now i still have to use the pattern. in the security section on my tablet i don't have the option to make it none i have screen lock , make pattern visible, automatically lock, power button instantly, owner info and none if these let me turn off that pattern. thanks

Did you download it from the google play store or amazon app store? either one of those will have a record of apps you downloaded.

On my phone (different device & os version) under "screen unlock" I can choose pattern, pin, password or none. Seems really odd to let you enable it but not clear it :(

yes it is i tried all of those mentioned. i think the app that required this may still have something on the tablet and that is what preventing me from removing it.

can some tell me if i push the reset button will i get back all the items the tablet came with from the box new? it may be just easier to reset it rather that monkey around this way. thanks
