Turning off notification sounds but keeping alarm on?

Is there a quick way to turn off all notification sounds from email, facebook, text message, etc. so they do not go off during the night, though keep my alarm set for the morning so it will still go off?

Thanks.

Alarm will still sound even if you have muted the entire device. Every night I long press the power button and completely mute my device and my alarm still wakes me up in the AM.

Yeah Alarm will sound no matter what. So before the movie starts in the theater, make sure you check your alarms! ;p Muting the phone would not save you from the dirty looks you get when your alarm started ringing... :p

Is there any easy way to change this so that when you put the phone in vibrate mode it also puts the alarm in vibrate mode?

Thx
Tom

If you have the 4.3 update go to:
Settings>My Device
Switch Blocking Mode on
Then go into the settings for Blocking Mode and check the options you wish to block (obviously leave the 'Disable alarm and timer' option unticked).
Then set the time that you want notifications to be disabled from and to et voila

This used to work for my previous Note 2, but I just replaced it and now my mute silences the alarm too....can't figure it out....

I just got my phone & went in trying do turn all notifications, off but in doing so my alarm did not go off! So i don't know why everyone says it stays on. Luckily I was only taking a nap & not doing something important. This is getting complicated. Wishing a got another s4! My s5 doesn't have a book with it (not that I would read it ).

Same 4 me: have to leave almost every notification " on" is the only way alarms sounds are reliable, despite switch/option pattern said to be RIGHT ~ think RIGHT may not be RIGHT for every possible combination & permutation: phone, model, o/s update or version (5.1.1 here currently), that' not considering build #, & kernel?. Worse odds than winning at roulette, rough calc using [SOMP] basis.
