Tweet from P3Droid update imminent

No eta... that's reassuring. I think we all figured we would get 2.3, at least it's 2.3.4 but no eta, doesn't change anything in my book, when we get an eta, then I will be getting excited :) Thanks for the update though! I have decided to hold onto mine, I love the phone and it's hard to get rid of, no matter how bad the issues are

Who is p3droid

Haven't been around long have you??? J/K:)

P3Droid is a member of TeamBlackHat. One of main developer teams for Android, and is well known for having very cutting edge accurate information.

The last time P3 was talking about a 2.3.4 update, it was for the Droid Charge, and it just so happened to be around the time he received one for testing/developing. Within a few days, TBH released the 2.3.4 leak for the Droid Charge. You see where I'm going with this?

Just this morning, P3 was notified that an X2 was on its way to TBH for testing/developing. Now he's tweeting about a 2.3.4 update for the X2, leads me to believe that he's possibly already got his hands on the leak and just needs to test it out before releasing it through TBH.

No, I just got the x2 yesterday.

So is this an OTA thing or a custom ROM?

Funny story - I bricked my samsung galaxy prevail while trying to unroot it last nite. Guess best buy wont be giving me my money back.

It's most likely a leak (beta) of the upcoming OTA.

As far as your Fascinate goes- You can most likely reverse the brick process and return it to complete factory settings.

I can't provide much guidance, as I only have experience with Moto phones. But with Moto Phones the process involves using RSDlite to flash factory images or SBF's (system boot files) to restore phones to their factory state.

If you're on twitter, you can ask P3Droid how to do it with Samsung phones, because alot of his current work is for the Droid Charge. He may be able to help you so you can get your money back from best buy.

What type of time frame should one think of - days? weeks?

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately I misread a post and did a factory resest after a failed ROM flash. Factory reset has USB debugging turned off. I'm not sure if there is anyway to fix the thing anymore.
