Twitter for Android Painfully Bad

Hey guys,

Absolutely loving my Nexus and haven't had any problems as far as apps running smoothly on ICS. However, the only app I seem to have issues with is Twitter for Android. The app is painfully slow and I have downloaded Seesmic to replace Twitter for Android. What is the deal? Has Twitter for Android not been optimized to work with ICS fully yet?

While I don't use this app, I have seen many GNex users claim they get vastly better results by going to Settings | Developer Options and checking the box next to Force GPU Rendering.

I hope this helps:)

While I like the Official Twitter, I don't really use twitter enough to count.(following 35 and 7 followers)

The awesome thing about android is the "choice" we have, there are about 5-10 great twitter apps. You'll have to do a little research, but you can find one that fits you perfectly.

Personally, I'm a big fan of Twicca. Very clean app.

I'm not really a Twitter content creator, more a content consumer, so YMMV...

I was a Tweetdeck fan from when they released the beta but it became obvious that Twitter only bought them to get their web app code. It was lacking in some basic features that the other guys already had (like persistent filters) so I looked elsewhere when I bought the Gnex.

I've been using Plume since and it is very robust including he ability to "mute" things based on their source or any other text string. It's nice to be able to follow friends who are foursquare addicts and not have to read the spam.
