Two Dual-Core phones

This is not Metro or Cricket related but wanted to share. It is HTC/Android history.

A new HTC phone called the edge, with a, not a single or a double but a QUAD core processor. Its the first ever phone with a quad core processor.

i bet that phone can throw some heat when it gets hot, and battery has to suck unless it has atleast 29 mah. (IMO)

I thought more cores improved battery life because they don't have to work as hard. Of course that's if the OS is optimized for it. Right now I don't think the dual cores are really even being utilized to their full potential.

true and also i think it depends on what os they are running, but with 4g constantly running, it might be a battery hog depending on the provider also, like for sprint 4g on my phone it eats battery but with metro 4g constantly runs but barely use any battery, depend on the usage that is.

I think LTE is supposed to be more efficient than Wimax, plus it depends on signal strength too. I've read that Wimax has trouble penetrating into buildings, so if it's getting a weak signal that would eat your battery more also. Sprint is switching to LTE next year.
As for the OS, I think ICS is supposed to be better optimized for dual cores, but quad core seems like overkill. The only use I can think of would be for super high end games, but I don't really like playing games on my phone anyway. I think touch screen only controls suck for games. I'd rather just play my games on my PS3 or my PSP. But have you seen the PS Vita thats coming out? It looks amazing! Amoled screen, 2 analog sticks, touch screen and a touch pad thing on the back, and can play PS3 quality games with ease. If I play a game on my phone, its just because I'm stuck somewhere and need to waste some time, so I'd rather play something simple anyway.

That thing works on AT&T?! What the hell?!

I installed SYSTEM PANEL on my MO PHO to see if both cores were being utilized & it indicated that both were being used equally.Battery life is decent as I don't have to take a charger to work to stay connected, however,I did go ahead & order a SEIDIO 3500 mah extended battery anyway,as to have that extra power on reserve for those days that I don't go straight home & plug in.

uh huh i had bought me and extended battery, but my only thing is the ugly back cover but hey i cant complain as it last a long time and was half price brand new from Verizon. ;)

I don't mind the extra thickness w/the extended back cover either, however,I may have to modify the charging dock that's arriving soon to accommodate the extra thickness.

Nice find on getting an extended battery from VERIZON for 1/2 price!Always good to hear of someone getting a good deal on phones/accessories.

Sorry, I could have worded that better, I didn't mean that both cores weren't actually functioning, just that they weren't really being taken advantage of to do anything a good single core can't do (besides games i.e. Tegra Zone games).

PS @Nuttmeg, sorry, I wasn't trying to hijack your thread with the PS Vita stuff, but this is kind of an off topic thread anyway. Hopefully no M's find us and shut it down lol.

oh you good bro, this thread can have anything in it...lol ;)

It is part of ZTE's Style S series. For more on it in case you guys weren't around when originally posted.

Smartphone ZTE Style S (Arthur) is made in monoblock form factor and has a very attractive design. It is based on a Qualcomm MSM7227 processor and features a 4.3-inch capacitive touch display with a resolution of 480

That ZTE is going to suck big time. LTE phone with only 1350 mAh battery? My Esteem has 1500 mAh and that's not enough as LG is using the same battery that was in the LG Optimus. Most LTE phones are now coming with 1850, 1900 mAh. 1350 mAh? RIDICULOUS. So, that shows me right there the company doesn't have a clue how to build a decent phone.

The 2nd clue is the 0.3 megapixel front camera.

A lot of that is Metro cutting corners and down grading things for cost purposes. But I've seen one ZTE and it just felt like a POS.

Just posted on their site

It's about a year too late for that phone.

uh huh, now if they would have release it when the ascend came out than maybe they would have made pretty good sell, but the admire has better specs than this and from what i know since a have a couple they will beat the HTC wildfire by far, 600mhz vs 800mhz, plus the price on them which i got for $79.

How do you like the Admire? Cricket has the Vitality (Admire) on sale on their site for $79 right now if anybody is interested. The only reason I could see anybody wanting the Wildfire S would be for the LED flash, otherwise it's just the HTC version of the Optimus.

the admire is a great phone and there is also a recovery for it, and cm7 is currently being ported to the admire.:D

HTC wildfire is officially supported by CM so it would be a piece of cake to get it on it. And PG said you could probably oc it to 1ghz

I know this page is in chinese (google translate should fix that) but the pictures alone point to this phone coming to metro. especially with the cdma technology listed in the phone details

I saw ZTE and quit reading. In my book they are cheaper then Huawei's which Ill never buy a Huawei again. Ill stick with my LG Esteem

Just because their cheap dosent mean that it wont be good. Have you seen the ZTE Warp from boost mobile (ZTE Warp Phone Review | PCWorld) it is pretty good for a Chinese company that is in the same playing field as Huawei

If the Arthur has a 1.2ghz dual core and a front facing camera, it could be a power house. It all depends on the build quality of the phone from their such as the camera sensor which was a slight problem on the ZTE Warp
