Two message tones and notifications

For some reason, ever since I upgraded my HTC Hero to the latest Rom today, I have received two message tones and notifications for every text message I receive.

I don't know why this has started happening as no new apps have been installed apart from those that were erased during the upgrade.

Any ideas?
