Two Notifications for Every Email?

Can't seem to get my settings right to only get one notification per new email. I only have one account (Gmail) but get two notifications.

I tried unchecking Gmail from the general sync settings, but then I don't get any notifications.

Anyone having a similar problem, anyone have any suggestions?

Here's what my ideal set-up would be: notification in bar and a vibrate as soon as a new email comes in.

Really enjoying my switch from WebOS to Android, but can't get some of the setting quite right...

I think my Evo is doing the same thing as yours. I believe it is getting notifications from both the Mail and GMail app.

Yup, mine was doing the same thing. I deleted the email account form the Mail app and I'm only using the Gmail app now, just one notification

I run both but my "mail" app is strictly for Exchange and then I have the Gmail app.. seems to be working on mine that way

yeah the gmail app i use it for my main gmail account but i also have 2 other gmail accts that are used less frequent. i have them and about 5 other emails + exchange in the htc mail app.
