Help Two problems: one easy one hard (I think)

jeffs123

Lurker
I just got my Rezound and I am having two problems with it. First, the easy one. The screen is 720x1280. I took some of my images and sized them to exactly that size. When I put them on the Rezound and try to use them as wallpaper, the phone insists I crop them. The biggest I can make them is half the frame (almost square) and then, when displayed as wallpaper, most of the image is cropped away. It is almost like it is trying to fit it as a panorama across all seven screens yet the image doesn't scroll like it did on my Incredible.

Now the hard one. Listening to music or audiobooks using either PowerAmp or the stock player. I press the headphone button to start/stop the audio. If the phone is sleeping, the button won't wake up the phone. Here is the really strange part. Sometimes it works. Most times, it doesn't. Sometimes, if it doesn't work, pressing the button again, starts the audio. Sometimes, it does not. This is really frustrating to me.

As an aside, I had a similar problem with my Incredible after the upgrade to Froyo. The problem persisted, even when Verizon replaced my phone. The upgrade to Gingerbread fixed this however. So, any ideas? I'm stumped.

I don't do custom papers but you might try reading through this thread about wallpapers and the Rez.

The hard one is beyond me. Someone else will have to address it. Have fun and welcome to Android Forums.

Thanks. I tried Wizardrii and it worked for the wallpaper issue. I still don't understand why it is necessary however. All I can figure is that it is a remnant of the older version of HTC Sense. The old version scrolled so it needed a "landscape" image where the new version doesn't and needs a "portrait" ones. Possibly they forgot to change the wallpaper setting function to reflect that. Seems an obvious bug and one that shouldn't have made it through testing.

Anyone have any thoughts on the second issue? I'm stumped and frustrated.
