Help Two problems with the Galaxy note 2

Tibard

Lurker
Have had 2 problems with the Galaxy Note 2 since purchase 3 days ago:

1. Wifi keeps popping on even after I turn it off. This happened on my EVO too before I jettisoned it. Starting having issues after the last EVO update. Now this phone does the same thing and it's new!

2. E-mail, I have to refresh the email to get new mail even though I have synced it to refresh every 15 minutes. Really?

Any help would be appreciated.

sounds like you have issues with your wifi more than anything. Hence why its not updating your emails either...(also make sure that in your network settings you have auto sync enabled and data access).

Have you tried a factory reset?

There is a setting to turn off the optimized data settings, this will stop the Wifi from randomly tunring on. Settings/more settings/mobile networks/connections optimizer/ then unslecet the optimizer

Your EVO was doing that because it was set to it. There was update that turned on this "feature" that would fire up 4G and WIFI atuomatically when it was detected. It was difficult to find but there is a setting where you could turn that off. I imagaine you might have the same thing going on with your new phone.

Turning off optimized settings worked for the wifi. For the email, i had to go to the notofications settings on the top bar to turn "sync" on. I had been everywhere in the email settings to try and sync the mail but it did not work until i turned "sync" on at the top on the notification bar. Weird...

Thank you all for the enlightenment...

I just had the same issue with my WIFI it actually turned off while I was using it last night. There is a WIFI timer on the phone that I had to turn off. No issues since then

How about updating the title of this thread to [SOLVED] so that people looking through the forums can see that whatever issues you were having are solved instead of outstanding.
