Two questions about TapFish

Any suggestions on how to organize my inventory tanks? They're the first couple tanks; the ones showcasing what you can buy and what they look like grown. It's hard to fit only 25 kinds in one tank. It's hard to figure out how to organize tanks with the breeds, also, because of the duplicates. Well not hard, just annoying because I'm so OCD.

Both of you check out "BornUgly" I still left out four. Also flashlight guppy is ugly as shit but I used 4 flashlight breeds already lol
 
Check out the social groups--on the top bar you can click through.

I made us a group. I think that will work better than an outside forum. We can have different thread and such.

Gonna try to snag a picture for it amd get on a real computer.
 
HERE is a link to the group. When you get enough members in a group, you can create a forum, so them we will have a forum and not have to leave this one ;)
 
woo i have now bought the yellow belly damsel and i am breeding it with the eagle ray.....roll on 3days :D

oh and the new (ish) update says new social events coming soon for us androiders:eek:, yay:D
 
Changing ROMS on my Nook Color changed my name on TapFish.. I have been visiting people here, but not sure if it is showing up now or not. My name on it now is eghill112525.. So I may be one of those who has to sets of tanks rolling around out there. Not sure..
 
My laptop just crashed.....completely kaput. Spent over an hour on the phone with Hp only to find out its a hardware issue - I figured that out all by myself since the screen went completely dead - then to be told to send it in for repair, and after an eon waiting for instructions was told it couldn't be repaired Because it's an old model (four years!) and would I like to buy a new one. No, I wouldn't....at least not until I've had a chance to get my data backed up and shopped around.

At least my fish tanks weren't on there but I have four years of stuff including that huge spreadsheet I've been taking about! :(
 
ouch tapros i know how you feel my computer so-called had a virus a couple years ago and we sent it out for repairs and they wiped out the intire computer without warning and we still diddnt get rid of the virus, tipical pc world :mad::D
 
OMG!!! I feel for you.. I hope you can get it working again or at least your data saved.

I have a Macbook that's about 4-5 years old now, and I am constantly backing up my files in fear that one day it'll just decide to not boot up again. I'm a heavy user & I can't afford another one anyone soon, so it's like walking on eggshells wondering when it's going to die out. I did some research on the right tools to help maintain this grand-bot, and it works and runs like new. I'm still worried about it crashing randomly someday though...
 
TapRos, I was going to put together a chart similar to yours someday anyway, so wanna join forces and collaborate if you can't get your original back? Like, you do one breed, I another, and we check it off as we go along? It should go faster that way! I dl a screen shot app, here's the database I was talking about:

You would think it easier task than it is. I mean I have every bred fish, or rather have bred every fish. I sell the ugly ones lol. 36x36 spreadsheet with only prices in the cells. Seems easy. Well prices/days to mature.

That's a good methodology. I'm very visual though and like to have as much detail as possible & see the names of the bred fish. Excel is a great idea for this though... I may start my table there... <steals idea>:D
 
Thanks for your sympathy, Obee. My laptop is unfixable so I went to Microcenter and asked for the data to be copied to a hard drive. I feel nervous about leaving my computer with people because all my private information is available for anyone to look at! I have passwords on sensitive documents, but I don't think that's going to be much help. Then I shopped around for a new laptop and ended up buying a Toshiba from Costco. It's less than half the price of what my HP cost 4 years ago. It has the same 17-inch scrreen but has a faster processor and more memory and storage. I just hope I get my data back.

My spreadsheet doesn't have the names of the breeds, only the prices. then I even got tired of typing in 5 digits for every price, so went to ##.#k format instead for those in the thousands and 10s of thousands. I'm sure there is an easier way, but can't figure it out.

How far have you got with your spreadsheet, Mindbenda?
 
Oh, Droidros, I absolutely hate when that happens to computers!

I hope you get your data back all safe and sound.

First thing you need to do is get Windoze off it and Ubuntu on it }:-)
 
I didn't even start, and probably won't. I don't sell breeds tbh. I just make themed tanks now anyway. If a breed happens to fit in with theme I'm thinking of I drop it in the tank.

Bwuhahaha! Finally finished it. If these aren't ugly, I dunno what is.

As you can see I actually avoided smash breeds cause are not ugly just half assed.
 
I don't find the barb flower ugly at all. He looks like a chameleon spy, with red eyeshades (or is he an accountant? :p). Just goes to show that beauty and ugly is in the eye of the beholder.

Now the fellow with the blue and gold stripes and antennae on the top and bottom - what's that? Bannerfish tiger or something? He's pretty bad. Also, there's a leafy dragon something with the blue face and pink body...nasty.
 
Flashlight banner is the blue and gold stripes and the dragon I think is a piranha.

I also made a beauty tank that is right after ugly.

Since my nephew informed me that this game looks like some sort of Pokémon game... I made a Pokémon tank.

If anyone is still interested I already have a speadsheet put together with all the fish and stats on each breed. I also have a page with all the breedable fish and stats on the bred fish. When I get home tonight I can post it on google docs or I can email to anyone who wants a copy. BTW there are 666 possible breeds right now.
 
Thanks so much Boxatoys. I was able to download it with no problem. Great information and really appreciated. Especially since I lost all my data when my computer died!:mad:
